One Womb and Three Fetishes

Adam, Hannah and Nadia have different habit or may I call it as fetish? I have no idea that their preferences would be very different from each other. I soon realize that every child is unique in their own way and truthfully, that what make each one of them very special.

Adam is a milk-bottle-hugger. He will always have a milk bottle stuffed in his mouth to help him to sleep. When he was small, my mom told me to keep a feeding bottle near him when he fell asleep so he can grab it anytime he wake up and continue sleeping again. This method does in a way prolonged his sleeping time but the bad consequence is that his front rabbit teeth start protruding in an unattractive manner and rot.

He used to have the milk bottle stuck in his mouth even when he plays. It took us almost a year to get rid of his bad habit so now he only drinks milk to sleep. There’s nothing much we can do about his protruding front teeth but we make sure he brush his teeth at least once a day. Hopefully his permanent teeth will come out just fine.

Hannah is an index and middle finger sucker. She will also need a blanket or small towel, nappy or my shirt to hold (or sometimes stuff it into her nostril) in order to lull her to sleep. So far her fingers are okay other than it gets chips and wrinkled easily. Her teeth are also okay.

Hannah was breastfed until she’s eight months old (until I’m pregnant again). Then she had difficulties to adapt to the formula milk and she had stop drinking milk since she’s two years old. I have been feeding her Milo and cordial syrup and hope that she will not miss those entire nutrients that she should because she did not drink formulated milk.

Nadia needs a pacifier/soother to sleep. Her favourite is the one with a curve. Imagine loosing her pacifier in Genting and I have to rock her back and forth to sleep. I did brought two pacifiers and one is then missing, the other is left in the car and Gen is too lazy to get it. As todate, we have bought at least more than a dozen pacifiers for her.

Now we try to minimize her clinging-ness to the pacifier hoping that we can get rid of it soon. I had tried to teach her to snug the blanket to sleep. Hopefully it will be able to lull her to sleep.
