Above all, I loved the name Sarah so much. Yes, it’s very simple and some may say it’s very common, but for me it sound so direct and without pretenses. Last time I was considering naming Hannah as Sarah but as there’s a new girl in the office by the same name, I finally decide to choose Hannah. Now in the new office, we have no Sarah here. Maybe I can use that name.
No, not Sarah Jessica Parker. LOL. She’s be constantly waiting for Mr. Big. Gen don’t actually favour the name Sarah as it reminded him of Siti Sarah Raisudin who we can see now contesting in a million dollar singing competition.
Then we have Dania. This is simple and sweet. This name was politely rejected by Gen. Mainly because the name means hampir or ‘almost’. Gen said the baby will likely be hampir berjaya, hampir cantik, hampir bijaksana, hampir beriman i.e. almost every good thing but not really berjaya, cantik, bijaksana and beriman.
Well, I really don’t know how to argue with that.
Nadia.I don’t really know how this name made it to the list. Last month, I bumped into an old dorm mate, YM Tengku Putri Nadia. Maybe most of you will recognize her lah. Back in school, she was this tall skinny girl with slouch shoulders (yes I was skinny too, but I am very short so I did not slouch!) and weird (?) face.
We shared an elevator and she’sactually working in the same building with me. We chat a little and she asked me to come and see her downstairs (which is still on my to-do list). When I asked my staffs, they said she actually owned the lamp shop downstairs. But, that is yet to be verified. Apparently all the girls here idolizes Nadia because she looked like a model, with long legs and beautiful distinguished face (now… she’s really a classic example of an Ugly Ducklings) but still very humble and down to earth kind of girl.
Gen said it was a Russian name. Duh!! He’s been watching that Alias series so much. He said I made it up when I said Nadia means pemurah.
The last name on my list is Sophia. I think its Abby’s baby name. Correct meit I’m wrong. Sophia is always associated with beauty. Sophia Loren, Sophia Latjuba, Sofea Jane etc… This is yet to be discussed with Gen. However; the name might not carry any meaning at all and thus maybe rejected by Gen, yet, again.
Well, I can actually say the names out loud and let the baby decides which name she liked the most. Maybe she'll kick me if she liked it or maybe she kicked because she hate it? LOL, I’m sure Gen will question whether the baby kicked because she liked it or because she hate it so much...
