Tiga! Hahah.... nampaknya Gen memang nak tutup kilang dah.

Baby Dearest

Happy Birthday to Baby yang tak ada nama lagi setakat ni. Adik Gen, Syikin safely delivered the Baby on 12th August, 2009. Mula-mula tak nak pegang Baby sebab I might be carrying germs around from office (girl downstairs cotracted the swine flu and my boss kept on spraying the Dettol disinfectant in the elevator and bought daily masks, hand sanitizer for us). We were also compelled to wash our hand every hour and after attending clients. 'Because of the death poll, drastic measures are called for', he said. I am happy to obliged.
So, when I arrived at the Farabi, I washed my hand, peek at the Baby, refuse to hold her but then she looked at me with this trusting eyes... and she smell so good, I hold her and kiss her and alamak, I feel like I want a Baby...(again) *sigh*
If you notice the Baby's head is slightly berlekuk, I assume that it is quite a labourdous delivery for Syikin. However, Alhamdulillah, everything went went.

Hannah @ Hanna Humaira Binti Norhisyam

Hannah was born on 31st day of August, 2006 and was the cutest baby that I have ever seen. She was really fair with red splotches all over her face. She had long fingers with perfectly trimmed fingernails and she weights 2.8 kg which is the biggest baby that I have ever carried.

I have always wanted to name her Hannah. Her name comes from an Ibrani word means ‘filled with glory’, penuh keagungan. Nice eh? But what most people don’t know is that Gen accidentally drops the back ‘H’ somewhere on his was to the Registration Department. No kidding. We amend it later so her full name is as above.

As for Humaira, it means putih kemerah-merahan which is the colour of our National Flag representing the special Merdeka day that she was born. Creative right? Hehe

But the best part is that we all call her ‘Lala’. It was actually the nick given by Adam. When I tell him that we shall call the baby Humaira, he had a hard time pronouncing her name so he conveniently calls her as Lala. He was 14 months-old when I give birth to Hannah. So, instead of teaching him to call her properly, we all end up calling her Lala as well. Sampailah sekarang. She hardly responds to her real name, sometime she will respond to ‘Kakak’ depending on her mood but most likely to respond to Lala and she even refer to herself as Lala. As in ‘Lala nak tidur, Lala nak susu’.

So here it is my cheeky Lala.

And I simply had to upload this picture as well though this post has nothing to do with her, Miss naughty Nadia. Hehe.

And the Battle Begins

It was eight pm. I was cooking. Gen was praying. Adam was watching Tom and Jerry on Cartoon Network. Hannah was here and there. Nadia was sleeping. Our usual routine.

Suddenly Nadia screamed at the top of her lungs.

I hurried to the living room, almost trip on my way there in hurry. Nadia was still crying inside her cot. Hannah was already holding the cot looking suspiciously innocent. Nadia’s mouth was covered with traces of chocolate chips and when I lift her up, a big chunk of chocolate chips fell down. Traces of chocolate chip were on her clothes and in the cot. I can only imagine Hannah sat in the cot, on Nadia, trying to feed her with the chips.

“Lala!!” I scream but Hannah already escape to Gen’s side.

At 26 weeks

It was early Sunday morning, one week after Raya.

Gen took me to the GH immediately when I told him I bled. Not really bleeding but the stain was there and it just got bigger and more visible every time I check up on it. And yes, I was really scared.

I cried the whole way to the GH and Adam looked at me suspiciously. He did not say a word but I know he’s concerned about me. Gen also kept quiet. It was an awkward silent journey to the GH.

As it is Sunday, there are not enough doctors around to attend to me. They just conveniently drip my wrist and roll me into the ward. At the ward, we waited, but still no doctor around. At first, Adam refused to lie on my bed but he was so sleepy that he almost fell off the chair, snoring. Maybe he was scared that we’ll leave him alone once he sleeps. Finally, Adam napped peacefully on my bed until 6 pm.

Gen decide that he’ll come back later with my stuff as I obviously have to sleep over in the GH. Gen waited with me from 9pm to 10.30pm but still, no doctor around. The doctors finally attend me at 11.32pm (gosh, can you believe that?). I might have bled to death. Actually, as the bleeding had stop after lunch, I did not worry so much. Otherwise, I would have asked Gen to take me to a private clinic immediately.

The scan showed that the baby’s ok, healthy and kicking. The doctor said I have to get enough rest and loosen up, (quote and unquote). I called Gen later to inform him and he was really unsatisfied with the doctor’s explanation. The next day, Gen took me to a private clinic after I was discharged.

The doctor checks me thoroughly. I didn’t know that they can check up on the baby’s heartbeat, inflow and outflow through my umbilical cord, and when baby moves, they can see if the movement is regular or not. They can calculate the percentage of the water in my womb and by infra red, I can actually see the baby’s lung inflate and deflate. I am so amaze by all this, plus they have it in colours and I can actually see the baby’s face (its in 3D!). We can even hear the sound of the baby’s heartbeat and occasional sound of water (like swimming) on the speaker. All the others are just the usual lah. The baby is really shy that it is hard for us to peek at its gender. The doctor ask me to tap my stomach a few time and finally the baby moves a bit and Gen exclaims “baby girl!” and the doctor nods his agreement.
