Lima tahun dah yer…

When Gen texted me the above sms yesterday, I already knew what he meant. It’s our 5th anniversary. But he got the date wrong. We were actually married on 5th of June, 2004. I don’t want to tell him that he got the dates wrong because actually this is the first time he remembered. I have been reminding him about our anniversaries for the last four years.

Mostly I think he remembered because of the expensive gift that I make him bought for me as our anniversary gift. This year I decide to control my own fate. If he doesn’t remember, I wont spend my time sulking. I just tell him what I want (and the awful consequences if he’s ignorant to my request).

So, today we lunch at the Noodle Station, ECM. Cheap lunch treat because he had spend most of his money for my gift. Lol. Terrible!

Gen's Mango whats-it-name Drink.

My skyblue drink and appetizers.

Gen's Maggi Goreng with eggs. Hehe.

Muka ala-ala crook promoting the chilli sauce.

My Mee Hailam. Nice but now I'm already hungry! Well they didn't actually call it that. It had a fancier name but I just can't remember.

Serious picture for five seriously tough years together. Please notice my anniversary gift. Me loike!

This one is me without my mole. Awww! Me loike also.
And finally after five years, Rotiboy recently open just around the corner. We can smell it all the way to the parking lot.

Nasi Lemak

In Kuantan, you can find good nasi lemak in Kopitiam, the end lot shop in front of Berjaya Megamall. However, the price has gone from affordable to expensive and I cannot spend RM10 for a plateof nasi lemak every other day, rite?

Then we have nasi lemak Zaman which is like almost 20 km from the town. Somehow,my craving for nasi lemak always gets me into trouble. It happens earlier this year when I was pregnant with Nadia and we were at MIL house when I suddenly crave for nasi lemak Zaman. FYI, it was almost 25km away from MIL’s house. Gen was too lazy to drive there (it was Sunday morning) and I burst out in tears feeling that he don’t love me anymore. LOL, and yes, I was exaggerating. But, please bear in mind that I am one hormonal pregnant lady at that moment in time. Well, finally Gen gave up and we all went there to eat nasi lemak. Somehow, he manages to make me feel guilty afterwards and long after that incident.

Last month, we discover a good nasi lemak in Jelita, which is actually very near to my office. We went there for breakfast and the nasi lemak is quite good and less expensive compared to Kopitiam. The thing is, the cashier actually mildly flirt with me in Gen’s presence. Gen is actually amused instead of feeling angry when I smiled at the boy back. I don’t see any harm of smiling at him. Well, he’s obviously younger than me.

Lately, Gen has been giving me a weird look if I ask him to eat breakfast in Jelita. So I went there to tapau nasi lemak myself. No harm. On Monday, the boy actually asks for my handphone number. I just smile and pay for my discounted nasi lemak which I only noticed when I recalculated the balance.

Now I feel awkward going to Jelita again. But, Monday is a nasi lemak day! I don’t know what to say to that boy if I see him again. If I say ‘adik ni salah orang la, akak ni dah kawin, nak nombor handphone akak buat apa?’ it might sound like I’m over-reacting.Wouldn’t I? Gen would say I’m leading that boy all along and sending him all the wrong signals. Excuse me? Since when smiling is such a big issue? It was Gen’s fault that he never showed any affection in public that people might thought him as my older brother instead of my husband.

Why so hard? I just want to eat agood nasi lemak.
BTW, happy four years together,Gen.
